Assisted reproductive technology regarding the biomedical ethics
Abstract
In the recent years, as the technology in medicine is highly progressing, medicine as a technical disipline faces different and new issues which brings many ethical problems. It is inevitable for the development in medical science issues to be considered in humanism and humanistic virtues. It is a well-known realty that in the field of obstetrics and gynecology no other technique but IVF (in vitro fertilization) has been the most exiting and expeditious discovery. It proceed from the beginning of the use of IVF-ET (in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer) in infertiliy with its potential gains and risks to date. The purpose of this paper is to review the last 20 years of progression in in vitro fertilization in Turkey and also to review the ethical issues in assisted reproductive technology.
